Candy Cane Tutu Photo Shoot

Since I don't have my own kid to dress up in my tutus I had to place dress up with my niece over Christmas. Here are the photos I took of her...

Ladybug Tutu

My friend asked me to make her niece a lady bug tutu set which I was a little nervous about. However, I think it ended up turning out great. I bought these wings for $1 after Halloween and was hoping to make a cute tutu set with them. So here it is...

I wasn't so sure about what to do for the hair, but then I thought it would be super cute with pigtails and these little clips!

Glam Party #8

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas with friends and family! I really enjoyed the time I spent with my family, but sure wish it didn't have to end. I had to go back to work today while my husband still had off and my family remains in town. They met up with me for lunch which was really sweet and then I will join them again as soon as I get off work!

What was your favorite Christmas gift this year? I have to say that I got two great gifts this year, one from my mom and one from my mother-n-law! My mother-n-law surprised me with a sewing machine. I haven't had time to play with it yet, but can't wait! My mom is happy to get her machine back. My mother got me an external hard-drive which is very exciting. About six months ago I lost all of my pictures when my computer crashed so I will be glad to have them in a safe place from now on!

Now for the things I love from last weeks glam party!
I love the Chalkboard Chargers from Small Fine Print! I had no idea there was such a thing as chalkboard spray paint. I might have a little fun with this in the days to come. Can't wait!

I'm a sucker for the Rudolph Pops over at Coffee @ 3! I didn't get a chance to make them this year, but they will definitely be on my list next year!

I am curious to what you have been up to, so anything goes on this linky party!
It's your turn to shine so show me what you've got whether it be something hand-made, a recipe, a tutorial, a giveaway or even your etsy shop!
Can't wait to see what you have to share.

Ornament Wreath

I discovered the beauty of the ornament just a few short weeks ago after hosting a glam party here at Giggles, Glitz & Glam. Feel free to join every Tuesday!

The Christmas Wreath was over at My Happiness Experiment.

Here's my journey...

I gathered cheap ornaments from Hobby Lobby, Target dollar spot and Dollar Tree.

I put them in a giant pile!

Here was the rough draft edition...

And while I absolutely LOVE the joy sign, it fell off during the final stages so I left it off.

I absolutely love it!!

Hot Cocoa Ornaments

I needed something little to make for the women that were in the bible study I co-led for the past several months. Grateful for all these linky parties to give me great ideas.

I love the way they turned out although it does look a little bit like sand and not hot cocoa. I also definitely need to work on my paint pen skills!

I was inspired by the Peppermint Mocha Ornaments made by Christy over at from glitter to gumdrops! I was going to add a cute little ribbon like she did but I ran out of time since I worked on these at 10pm the night before I gave them to the ladies. Mind you I had to be at the church early the next morning for bible study.

Thanks for the inspiration Christy!

I love the flower gift ideas from Spunky Junky!

The snowflake soaps from Suzy's Artsy Crafty Sitcom would be the perfect addition to my guest bathroom for the holidays

I don't know that I have the patience for these Snowflake Pretzels from Mom Endeavors, but they sure do look cute and I bet taste great!

Christmas at Our House!

Welcome to Christmas at my house! I took a few photos so I could show you what our house looks like at Christmas.

Here is our Christmas tree, just wish a few more gifts were under the tree already.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

This is probably one of my favorite Christmas decorations!

I've added these ornaments to my tree this year...

These joy letters are on our kitchen cabinet!

I love our Christmas dishes!

This is our center piece on our table, the ornaments are in the bowl that matches our dishes.

And then one of my other favorite Christmas decorations. I may or may not have left this up all year and will probably leave it up again! :)

Pretty simple decorations here at our house!

Magazine Trees

I visited a friends house recently and she showed me a craft she had made. I thought these little Christmas trees were super cute, but what was more impressive to me was that they were made from magazines. She told me they were a Martha Stewart craft so I looked it up when I got home. You can find the tutorial here!

Of course, mine were made black with silver glitter so they would match my Christmas decor. However, I did make one that I only sprayed with glitter because I loved all the fun colors. It's likely someone in my family will be getting it for their home.

Glitzy Drawing Book

My sister told me that my niece would like some fun stuff to draw with so I went on a venture to find her the perfect gift for Christmas. I got some fun drawing utensils like twistables but was having a hard time finding a nice drawing book.

I finally just bought a normal drawing book and made it girly just for her. I hodge podged black paper with silver flowers all over it. Then I added some paper studio glittery flowers on top of that. I love how it turned out and it was such a simple makeover! The only thing I am not satisfied with is the green & red that is still showing...any ideas on what to do to cover that? I thought about putting glue over it and putting glitter on it, but am afraid with all the small spaces I'll just end up making a really big mess.

Now for my favorites from last weeks glam party!

I love the Peppermint Mocha Ornaments from Glitter to Gumdrops!

I think that this is such a fun and creative idea! I went to Hobby Lobby to buy ornaments but ours is completely wiped out of Christmas stuff. They went from 13 aisles to like 4. So hopefully next year I can do this because I love it!

I love the Jingle Bell Mistletoe from The Ivy Cottage!

I have tried finding mistletoe at the store for the past several years and either I am stupid and can't find it or it's not around. So I love this idea because it's super cute and it fulfills my desire to have mistletoe. And I finally have someone to kiss under the mistletoe!!! :)

Gifts that Give Back: Heart Strings & Giveaway!

This giveaway has ended!

I am happy to introduce you to Heart Strings for Orphans! This not-for-profit organization was created after a dear friend of mine visited Uganda. Her heart was changed forever on that trip and she wanted a way to pour into the community of Uganda as well as give back to the orphanage she visited. They decided to purchase paper bead necklaces from Ugandan women to turn around and sell here in America to give back to the orphanage in Uganda. Her heart for ht people of Uganda is incredible and her desire to give back to community is exemplified through her endeavors. For more on her story, visit Who We Are on their website.
