We have been on a lightweight stroller search for awhile now. I have searched high and low to find the perfect stroller for us. We currently have my sisters old Chicco, but she got rid of the shade not thinking she needed it anymore and I desperately want a shade. I looked into getting another Chicco because we do love this stroller & it serves its purpose but I really want a good shade so that she's shaded almost always especially now that the cooler weather has graced us with its presence.
I have gone into Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby & Target to check out all the strollers. I've even stopped in at several resale shops & other random stores. I have pushed strollers around, tried picking them up with one hand too see how light they are, pulled the shades up & down, folded them up, etc. I have done some serious searching. I've also now read nearly every review online.
We were really interested in the Chicco Liteway until I read the reviews & a lot of people had said it looked way nicer than it actually was. I then asked a friend who had it and she said her husband broke the shade off the first week because of the way it sticks. Since the shade is one of the most important features on my stroller purchase we decided against it and were back at square one.
I took recommendations from friends and was looking at the Uppababy G-Luxe as well as the Baby Jogger City Mini. Both are lightweight and have excellent shades!! I had heard a few reviews on the G-Luxe that I really didn't like so I talked with a really good friend about her Mini. She let us borrow it for the weekend for a test drive & I AM IN LOVE!!
What do I love most about it? Easy to close, lightweight, EXCELLENT shade, can steer with one hand & she sleeps in it! :) I seriously love it minus the price though. We have our eye on the City Micro at Target because it's $50 less. My friend who owns this Mini says that the Micro is only not as supported in the seat and the tires aren't as nice but neither of those things bug me that much. I may or may not be planning to take it for a test drive in the store ;)
So as of right now we still haven't purchased our stroller but I can almost guarantee we are buying the Mini or the Micro.
